Steven M. Pertes

Dr. Steven M. Pertes, Acupuncturist, has over 20 years of clinical experience in treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from New York University, a Masters of Science from Tri-State College of Acupuncture, and a Doctrate of Physical Therapy Degree from Temple University. Dr. Pertes has taken advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction utilizing the osteopathic approach, using hands-on manual therapy to restore movement and function to the joint, muscle, nerve and surrounding soft tissue. Acupuncture energetics and "trigger point release needling" are added to this framework to offer a comprehensive treatment approach.

Dr. Pertes' other interests include Aikido, Qi Gong and Meditation. He holds a 4th degree black belt in Kokikai Aikido, a mind/body martial art which uses the individual's internal powers as a form of self-defense.
