Dr. Steven M. Pertes, Acupuncturist, has over 25 years of clinical
experience in treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal
problems.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from New York
University, a Masters of Science from Tri-State College of Acupuncture,
and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from Temple University.
Dr. Pertes sharpens his skills and continues his professional
development by taking advanced training in the evaluation and treatment
of musculoskeletal dysfunction, utilizing the osteopathic approaches –
including CranioSacral therapy- to restore movement and function to the
joint, muscle, nerve and surrounding soft tissue. Acupuncture energetics
and "trigger point release needling" are added to this framework to
offer a comprehensive treatment approach.
Dr. Pertes' other interests include Aikido, Qigong, and Meditation. He
holds a 4th degree black belt in Kokikai Aikido, a mind/body martial art
which uses the individual's internal powers as a form of self-defense.
